Troubleshooting Your iZ
How to figure out what is wrong if your iZ doesn’t work right
iZ is a durable, electronic toy that is rather simple and doesn’t require a lot of troubleshooting or maintenance. Most times the iZ just works perfectly, but occasionally you may need some help with troubleshooting.
Momma Patty’s troubleshooting tips for the iZ…
I just love the iZ because, unlike some electronic toys, there aren’t really any tricks to making it work right. The kids can just take the iZ and have loads of fun with it without relying on me constantly to make it work, to adjust this, or to fix that.
Nine times out ten, if the iZ doesn’t work it is because the batteries are low or dead and they need to be replaced. The iZ uses four AA batteries which are inserted in the back of the iZ toy.
There is a panel on the back that needs to be removed using a Phillips screwdriver. To replace the batteries, simply remove the battery door from the back of the iZ, put the batteries in making sure that the positive/negative sides are turned the right direction, screw the panel back on and the iZ is ready to play.
If the iZ still doesn’t work, double check the battery placement. If the batteries are not put in correctly, the iZ won’t work.
If the iZ comes to life, showing it has power, but it doesn’t make any noise, there are two potential problems. First, the volume may be turned down. Using the belly command for volume you can turn the volume up.
Second, if you are using the headphone jack, it may not be plugged in securely to the music source or you may not have it plugged in to the right place on your music source. The iZ should be plugged in securely to the headphone jack of the music source. Check the plug at the music source and where it plugs into the iZ to make sure it is secure.
A problem we have not yet encountered, but I’m sure it will come along, has to do with the lights on the iZ. The horn-shaped nose on the face of the iZ lights up and flashes to the beat when the music is playing. I’m assuming, because it is a light, it will burn out at some point.
The iZ is new on the market and I haven’t yet found out if the manufacturer will be offering replacement parts, like lights, for the iZ. This is yet to be seen so I suppose we will deal with that issue if and when it arises.
The iZ is a wonderful, maintenance free electronic music toy!
